September is the latest month whose full records we verified for this update. October figures are not included because we have not verified that month’s change file. For newer releases and current journal status, check the official Master Journal List archive.

Monthly Coverage Change Summary

The nine months contain 353 change records. These are monthly events, not a count of unique journals or a net change in the number of indexed journals. A record listing more than one collection is counted once.

What the Change Categories Mean

Clarivate’s monthly files distinguish publication changes from removal decisions. Read the categories separately; a title change or cessation should not be described as an editorial de-listing. About the monthly files.

“On Hold” is a separate status. New content is not indexed while Clarivate re-evaluates a journal. The outcome may be continued coverage or removal; an on-hold notice alone does not establish a de-listing. This table is not a complete list of journals on hold. See Clarivate’s coverage policy.

How to Check a Journal Before Submission

1. Search the Master Journal List using the ISSN or eISSN. Match the title and publisher as well as the identifier.

2. Check the named collection and any current coverage notice. Follow a successor title when the monthly file records a title change.

3. If you need to confirm a particular paper’s indexing, check its record in Web of Science. Journal-level inclusion alone does not verify that individual article.

4. Save the date of your check and the relevant source. Confirm any separate institutional requirements before relying on the result.

Sources and Counting Method

The Clarivate Master Journal List is the authoritative source for coverage. Its monthly change files describe changes since the preceding update. Downloading the archive files requires a free Master Journal List login; current-status searches are available on the site.

For this update, we checked January–July workbook copies in the public monthly-file archive and the August workbook hosted by Kaohsiung Medical University. July’s 39 records also match SFIT Library’s July table.

September’s 35 records were checked against SFIT Library’s two cited tables, which identify the Master Journal List as their source. We did not directly access Clarivate’s September workbook. These externally hosted records support this historical summary; the official Master Journal List takes precedence for current coverage.

Each non-empty journal row contributes one event to its recorded category. Monthly totals and the January–September total were recomputed from those rows, including dual-index records only once. The totals exclude October and do not measure the number of currently indexed journals.
